The Hufunguous Amungus Shroom

Feast Competition!

The Hufunguous Amungus Shroom Feast Competition was born out of the opportunity as to “ how do you get the absolute finest purveyors of food (caterers/restaurateurs/chefs)” to take part in a weekend event when they’ve got huge catering and restaurant operations to take care of. They can’t possibly serve food for two whole days, and take a chance on selling food at an event that is virtually a “remote” site. The answer? The Humungous Shrrroom Feast Competition! This is a way that these purveyors, can put their best food forward, and concentrate of one item, and making it the best there is! Ostroms supplies these entities with mushrooms, that they then take back to their restaurants/kitchens, and cook them under controlled circumstances. After they’ve perfected this entrée’ of Ostrom’s Portabellas’, Shiitake, Criminini, Oyster, or Enoki, then they bring them to The Mushroom Festival, July 24^th and 25^th, 2010 at Thurston County Regional Athletic Complex, where the general public, can buy a $5 collectible plate, complete with a fork and token, and sample ten of the absolute finest mushroom recipes in the South Sound! The restaurants win, as they are promoted on the website, in radio and print ads as well as on the program, for just a little money, the general public wins, as they get to sample the greatest mushroom recipes from the best of the best, and Hawks Prairie Rotary wins, as they raise badly needed $$$ to help fulfill their mission of Helping People.
